Batch conversion is a paid upgrade. Once unlocked through the Google Play Store, tap Pick files, long-press to select multiple files, choose your format, and convert them all in one go.
Is Vera free?
Yes — single-file conversion is completely free, with no ads and no account required. Batch conversion is an optional upgrade.
What formats can Vera read?
Audio: MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A, OGG, Opus, AIFF, AMR, AC3, and MP2.
Video (Vera extracts the audio): MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WEBM, M4V, and 3GP.
What's the difference between a lossless format and a compressed format?
It's a trade-off between file size and audio detail. Compressed formats (like MP3, AAC, and Opus) shrink the file by removing sound information most people can't hear — the files are much smaller and, for most listening, sound excellent. Some data is permanently discarded, which is why they're called "lossy". Lossless formats (like FLAC, WAV, and ALAC) keep every bit of the original audio — nothing is thrown away, so the files are larger but the sound is a perfect copy of the source. In short: compressed = smaller files, near-identical sound for everyday use; lossless = larger files, perfect fidelity.
How do I get batch conversion?
Upgrade Vera through the Google Play Store to unlock batch conversion.
Where do my converted files go?
Tap Save to Music and they're saved to your device's Music folder, ready for your music player. You can also Share them to other apps.
Can Vera convert video?
Vera extracts the audio from video files (MP4, MOV, and others). It converts video to audio — it does not convert video to other video formats.
Will my song's artist and album info be kept?
Yes — track details are carried over during conversion where the format supports it.
Why can't I select multiple files?
Selecting multiple files (batch) is part of the paid upgrade. Single-file conversion is always available for free.
Does Vera collect my data?
No. Vera does not collect personal data. Your files are processed on your device and are not uploaded anywhere.
Can I convert files from a music CD?
Not directly. Music CDs store audio in a special disc format (called Red Book) that phones can't read as files. To use CD tracks with Vera, first "rip" them to your computer as normal audio files — programs like iTunes or Windows Media Player do this — then transfer the file to your device and convert it in Vera.
